After reviewing the minutes of the July 1, 2025 regular meeting, a motion was made by Supervisor Sundet and seconded by Supervisor Friesen to approve the minutes with one correction. Under old business, in reference to the fence to be placed by the recycling bins, “Dakota Fence” was corrected with “fence companies’. Motion carried.

Treasurer Renner gave the treasurer’s report ending July 31, 2025 with the checking account having an ending balance of $209,350.86 and the money market account having an ending balance of $664,777.24 making total available funds as of July 31, 2025 $874,128.10. Citizens Comments:

There was a comment about the dust control and how well it was working. There was also some discussion and clarification about what was decided regarding 322nd Ave.

Road Report:

Sunset has been completed and the paving on both Tower Road and W Pickerel Lake Road have been completed. There is one mailbox to fix on W Pickerel Lake Road. The plan is to have the minimum maintenance portion of NW Pickerel Road done this fall.

The comment was made that in order to be fair to all, that if there are similar requests made as was with 322nd Ave, that all should be treated the same. A motion was made by Supervisor Vareberg and seconded by Supervisor Sundet to authorize any supervisor to approve a cost share gravel agreement to any request from similar situations. Motion carried.

There is also a shared road sign on 322nd Ave. that the residents would like to be placed. There was a brief discussion as to where it would be placed. A motion was made by Supervisor Vareberg and seconded by Supervisor Sundet to acquire the sign and pay the Highway Department ot place it. Motion carried.

Old Business:

Supervisor Sundet talked to the county about the fence that the Board approved to have installed around the recycling bins. The County was fine with it as long as the township left enough room between the fence and the bins to allow for expansion. So the Board will proceed with the installation of the fence.

Supervisor Sundet talked to Mark Palm about the double payment he had received. After checking, he agreed that he did receive payment twice for the same job. He asked if he could do some work for the township to pay it off rather than pay it back in cash. The Supervisors were in agreement that it would be fine for him to do that. The Board briefly discussed what that would be and mentioned possibly doing some tree work on W Pickerel.

New Business:

Treasurer Renner reported that the total for the 2026 Town Aid is $2,305.

Supervisor Vareberg talked about the request on the behalf of Mike & Carrie Hough to place a drain field for their sewer system at the corner of their property on Aljoe Lane which would encroach on the township right of way. After a brief discussion, the suggestion was made to allow it. Supervisor Vareberg made a motion to approve the request of Mike & Carrie Hough to place their drain field where they indicated under the condition that although improvements to Aljoe Lane would be unlikely, if it were to be improved in the future, the drain field would need to be moved. The motion was seconded by Supervisor Sundet and the motion carried.

A reminder was given that the District 9 meeting and election will be on August 21, 2025 at 6:30 at the Cormorant Community Center.

There being no further business, a motion was made by Supervisor Vareberg and seconded by Supervisor Friesen to adjourn the meeting and the meeting was adjourned at 7:26 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Karen Eifealdt, Clerk
